We regularly carry out maintenance works to keep our roads around the district in tip-top shape.
Well-maintained roads are an important part of keeping people safe. While we aim to do this work with as little disruption as possible, we know roadworks can be inconvenient and frustrating. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we do this important work.
Local roads can be resurfaced with chipseal or asphalt, and while we do this work we put traffic management plans in place to make sure there's as little disruption as possible to road users.
Please drive carefully through work sites and stick to the temporary speed limits.
NOTE: Roadworks are dependent on weather and other factors. If bad weather strikes, work will be postponed to the next suitable day or night.

STABILISING THE WATERFALL ROAD SLIP
What: Waterfall Road has been closed at Mackays Crossing and the bottom of Maungakotukutuku Road, cutting off access between Emerald Glen Road and Valley Road since 11 September due to the risk of material coming down the hillside.Around 2,500 truckloads of material will need to be moved to help stablise the hillside and the Council is awaiting further engineering design and assessment before making any decisions on when the work can commence.
Once work gets underway there will be further assessment of the underlying rock in the area after the fallen soil has been cleared, to ensure the risk of future instability is at an acceptably low level.
