Roading Network Planner (*Potential Team Leader) - Ref 037

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who has what it takes to succeed in a dynamic and challenging role within our Access & Transport Team. As the Roading Network Planner you will be responsible for the effective provision of strategic advice and support with regard to the future form of the districts transport network. Dependent on skills and experience, this role has the potential to lead the Roading Network Planning Team.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • a tertiary qualification in  planning, transport planning,  transportation engineering, or geography;
  • proven work experience in transport planning or related area, such as transport and land use integration
  • demonstrated knowledge of Land Transport Management Act, Resource Management Act and Local Government Act;
  • knowledge of traffic modelling is preferred.
  • knowledge of NZTA's business case requirements for funding is preferred.
  • good verbal and written communication skills, including a proven ability to write effective reports and present information to a range of audiences;
  • sound computer skills and familiarity with computer database operation;
  • demonstrated ability to positively influence a range of different personalities to achieve a good outcome;
  • ability to research, analyse and present information and data;
  • demonstrated ability to meet targets and work to deadlines;
  • effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to customer service and willingness to and capability for working with a wide range of people within and outside the organization;  
  • holder of a current and valid NZ Drivers’ licence.
