Kāpiti residents are invited to get hands-on this Winter and take part in No8 Wire Week.
After the inaugural No8 Wire Week in 2016 received excellent feedback we are looking forward to again provide an opportunity for young and old to learn some new skills with a programme of free workshops, events and excursions during the Winter school holidays.
This year No8 Wire Week will take place from 15-23 July. The programme will offer a series of resourceful and practical workshops, talks and excursions. Last year No8 Wire Week featured workshops held at Kāpiti College and Ōtaki College, included basic building skills, keeping chickens, bee keeping, vege gardening and composting, paper making, kombucha making, setting up rain barrels, making your own cleaning products, pest trapping, recycled jewellery, cooking and preserving, bike repair and more. We also hosted excursions to locations where community led projects are thriving such as bike libraries, stream care groups and community gardens.
As we get started planning the programme we are interested to gather ideas for what could occur across the week as well as hear from individuals, community groups and organisations who would have skills and knowledge to share. You can register your interest in being involved in running a workshop or hosting an event here. Or fill out the form below with your general ideas and feedback.
